AW(Andy) Hendry lives in rural Ayrshire with his family… he also hates writing about himself in the third person.

I’m Andy, AW, Hendry. I live in rural Ayrshire with the family strange. It’s lovely here.

I recently finished my studies at the University of Glasgow with an MA(Hons) in Archaeology. My studies included the Archaeology of Scotland from the Mesolithic to the early modern period, the Near East in the Bronze Age, the Viking expansion, the study of archaeological landscapes, the Picts, and the archaeology of religion.

I’m an avid reader of speculative fiction and especially the form of spec fic that is usually referred to as “weird fiction“. I love HP Lovecraft, Arthur Machen, Caitlin Kiernan, Laird Barron, Thomas Ligotti, John Langan, Wilum Pugmire, and all the other weird writers of the weird.

As well as being an avid reader of the weird I also write weird fiction. I have had work published in Visiak’s Mirror from Dunham’s Manor Press and have a piece forthcoming in their literary journal Xnoybis. I have also published a mini-collection of fiction which is available for Kindle: see the Hinterland link in the sidebar. Some of my stories are available for free on this site, just click the Stories link.

I can be found on Twitter and Google+ as well as on Goodreads(along with C, my partner), and on Facebook.
